Explicit is an artistic movement seen through a clothing brand, a movement that protects against censorship. Explicit means stated clearly with no room for interpretation. Explicit aims to represent true expression. Unfiltered. Uncensored. Authentic.

Why are censorship and silencing detrimental to society? While artists are forced to censor their art and silence their voice, so are people in their daily lives. People in the LGBTQ+ community and people who suffer from mental health issues may be forced to silence their voices out of fear of physical violence towards them for being open about who they are. For example someone who suffers from issues with their mental health and is forced to be silent. Often, someone who suffers from depression may not have explicit signs that indicate such, but they have fewer telltale signs of suffering. Moreover, if someone has depression, they are forced to silence what is genuinely on their mind for fear of being judged. We aim to remove the stigmatization from preconceived notions of expressing your true self and who you are, whether that be in one's art, one's personal identity, or even in the way one talks.
